I've been chatting with a friend of my daughter's (now living in MA) via facebook, and here's part of her latest message:
"I'm impressed with how hip you Marylander librarians are. I think you fall into the .0009% of people over forty on Facebook."
I choose to focus on the 'hipness' aspect of this comment but there IS the business of age. I have noticed subtle pointers, links, to special places for older folk on some of these sites; e.g., 'Totter" instead of Twitter . . .
HA! The youngsters are trying to get us off the playground. But we are not so easily sent to pasture. What we lack in mental agility (admittedly on the wane) we make up for in mindless grit.

Better to be older and hip than young and square. I think she's right about Maryland libraries though I don't think it's just Marylanders.
BTW - a book recommendation based on one you had up there - My stroke of insight : a brain scientist's personal journey Taylor, Jill Bolte.
