Evil Twin

I am a Gemini so maybe this shouldn't come as a surprise, but it turns out I have an evil twin. Well, maybe "evil" is too strong a word. I keep getting books that have been put on hold by this person who wants to improve me. They are books that I "should" read; books that would, I am sure, change me for the better, were I to take their prescriptions and philosophies to heart. The thing is, it's this me that finds them piled up on her desk with frightening regularity, and I hardly ever want to be improved. On those few occasions when the urge hits, I have found that chocolate usually makes it go away.

Very Amanda/Miranda! I don't think I have yet gotten through a book that was mentioned in a sermon.

It helps to have discarded all standards for what it means to 'read a book'. It's okay with me if I read two chapters, or check the back to see how it ends, or look in the index to see what kinds of stuff are covered and maybe just grab what I'm interested in that way. I don't finish at least half the books that I pick up because something caught my interest - and, if I ever worried about that, I stopped long ago.

"Reading a book" - if we really measured our circulation by how far people got into a book, it would be down in the tubes.
